Will love triumph over death?

The Crimson Prince of Venice is part concert, part drama, and part historical tale: an imaginative adaptation of a short story by Edgar Allen Poe that tells the story of a duel between two titans of the violin: Vivaldi and Paganini.

Through costumes and multimedia effects onstage, you’ll be transported to 19th century Venice, with all its mystique and romance: swept away in masquerade balls and serenaded by gondoliers – while enjoying incredible music channeled through this story of new upstart vs. established legend.

This concert was a hit with Mercury audiences when it premiered in 2015, and promises to deliver a dramatic punch.

This concert is made possible in part by the Houston Endowment, the Brown Foundation, the Cullen Trust for the Performing Arts, the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance, and by supporters like you.
