Experience of some of today’s most exciting living composers

This exciting concert will feature music from some of the most exciting and in-demand living composers today – highlighted by the dynamic American composer Missy Mazzoli (the first women to be commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera) and in-demand English composer Anna Clyne – whose piece Within Her Arms is a tribute to her late mother. Dvorák’s American Quartet rounds out this program – a work which recalls his famous New World Symphony – this is another work entirely. Hear it brought to life by the full string section of Mercury.

This concert is made possible in part by the Houston Endowment, the Brown Foundation, the Cullen Trust for the Performing Arts, the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance, and by supporters like you.
