A glimpse into what a Bach Opera could’ve been
As prolific as he was, Bach never wrote an opera. In fact, it’s the only genre of his day to which he contributed nothing. His Coffee Cantata is a treat – it’s as close as we get to hearing what an opera by Bach might be like. Afterwards, enjoy his famous Orchestral Suite No. 2 as well as other baroque treats from Corelli and Telemann.
This concert is made possible in part by the Houston Endowment, the Brown Foundation, the Cullen Trust for the Performing Arts, the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance, and by supporters like you.
